Attentive Energy Two Announces Major Investment in the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Partnership to Boost New Jersey Industries and the Local Supply Chain

(Freehold, NJ, October 6th) – Attentive Energy, a leading offshore wind developer, is proud to announce a multi-million dollar investment in the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program (NJMEP) and transforming the local supply chain. In connection with the 1,342 MW Attentive Energy Two proposal which was submitted to the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities, this significant contribution marks a critical step towards enhancing the competitiveness and sustainability of New Jersey’s manufacturing sector.

The proposed partnership works to develop a leading 21st century economy in New Jersey by creating grant funds that support innovations in green manufacturing, small and diverse manufacturers, and veteran manufacturers.

Attentive Energy Two’s investment in NJMEP reflects its dedication to fostering sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity within the manufacturing sector. This partnership will empower New Jersey manufacturers to thrive in an increasingly competitive global landscape while bolstering the state’s position as a leader in offshore wind development.

As a first step, Attentive Energy Two has committed funds for NJMEP to conduct a gap analysis to map New Jersey’s manufacturing sector and identify direct pathways for New Jersey’s businesses to contract with offshore wind projects.

Attentive Energy Two’s further commitment to this vital cause is demonstrated through a comprehensive three-part effort:

(1) Greening and Innovation for Manufacturing Facilities
This flexible fund offers investment opportunities in innovation and green technologies for New Jersey manufacturers. It aims to help reduce the environmental impact of their operations, particularly in overburdened communities. Investments can include new technology, equipment, innovation in manufacturing, life cycle assessments, training, education, awareness campaigns, and outreach initiatives. The ultimate goal is to support New Jersey manufacturers seeking sustainable solutions while participating in the offshore wind supply chain.

(2) Small, Minority, Woman, or Veteran-owned Business Enterprise (SMWVBE) Business Development
This fund provides grant opportunities to small, diverse businesses in New Jersey, enabling them to scale their operations and compete effectively in the offshore wind supply chain. Attentive Energy Two, in collaboration with grassroots organizer MRV Group, will facilitate outreach and education efforts, connecting these businesses with NJMEP’s extensive network and funding opportunities. Support can encompass facility modernization, marketing assistance, consultations, project management training, and sponsored NJMEP classes for new members.

(3) Veteran Family Program
Attentive Energy Two is committed to augmenting Department of Defense grants that support New Jersey veterans and their families in manufacturing. This initiative, in partnership with NJMEP, will provide much-needed resources to veterans looking to pursue careers in manufacturing, contributing to both the industry and the well-being of those who have served our nation.

“We believe that by supporting NJMEP’s mission, we are investing in the future of New Jersey’s manufacturing industry,” said Damian Bednarz, Managing Director, at Attentive Energy. “Through these targeted funds, we aim to create a more sustainable and competitive manufacturing landscape, ensuring that New Jersey remains at the forefront of innovation and environmental responsibility.”

“We’re thrilled to be a partner with Attentive Energy as they work to move offshore wind forward here in New Jersey. NJMEP will be working hand in hand to ensure this emerging industry and partners like Attentive Energy have all the support they need from the ‘MADE in New Jersey’ manufacturing community. With our team of Offshore Wind specialists that is currently engaged in research and development, conservation, workforce assessments, local supplier discovery and advocacy, we stand ready to ensure New Jersey’s energy future has the greatest positive impact on New Jersey manufacturers and thank the Attentive Energy team for keeping our domestic manufacturing base in mind,” said Peter Connolly, CEO, New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Partnership.
