Attentive Energy Two: Another Great Season Across the State!

June 2, 2025

New Jersey Field Notes: Views from Spring

From classrooms to conferences, the Attentive Energy team has been on the move — holding community conversations on New Jersey’s energy future. Our team has been busy hosting STEM education sessions that inspire the next generation through hands-on learning and engaging residents across the State in forward-looking discussions about offshore wind. These efforts wouldn’t be possible without community partnerships we’ve built across the State — thank you!

Spotlight on AE2 Community Advisory Board Member: Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless Hosts a Youth Science Fair

In May, Attentive Energy joined AE2 Community Advisory Board (CAB) member Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless for their first science fair. Twelve students presented on topics including wind energy, the water cycle, hurricanes and tornadoes, and earthquakes and erosion. Attentive Energy judges had a very hard timing ranking the winners! AE2 CABs are comprised of diverse community groups that voice local priorities and share information with residents on the development of New Jersey’s offshore wind industry.

Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore Award and Innovation Station

Attentive Energy was honored to join the Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore (GSJS) for their Good Neighbor Community Awards ceremony and to be recognized for our work in partnership with GSJS on STEM education and young women’s leadership. We were excited to see the Girl Scouts Innovation Station mobile van, supported in part by Attentive Energy, in action. Thank you for the recognition!

Community Conversations at the Sustainable New Jersey Summit

Our team had a constructive day of community conversations at Bell Works in Holmdel with municipal and civic leaders at the Sustainable New Jersey Annual Summit. We shared virtual reality activities, AE2 project updates, and offshore wind career trading cards. Great work by Sustainable NJ in hosting the Summit and advancing important green initiatives across the State.

EarthFest with Hackensack Riverkeeper

Our friends at Hackensack Riverkeeper hosted another fantastic EarthFest in beautiful Overpeck Park with community groups from Bergen County and beyond. The Attentive Energy team enjoyed the opportunity to chat with festival goers about the synergies between environmental conservation and offshore wind, as well as the role offshore wind energy can play in New Jersey’s overall energy supply.

Alternative Energy Symposium for High School Students at Rowan University

The Attentive Energy team finished off the month of May by participating in the Alternative Energy Symposium hosted by Rowan University’s Green Jobs Academy. This event brought together local high school students to explore careers in clean energy. The event featured interactive workshops and speaker panels with professionals across energy sectors. Attentive Energy staff has the unique opportunity to discuss the importance of transmission and electrical engineering with a very engaged group of students!
