The Attentive Energy team has been on the ground in New Jersey since 2019, learning how we can create a community-focused project and expand the number of stakeholders and organizations that can benefit from the offshore wind opportunity.

We’re advancing our mission and values by empowering the next generation, fostering sustainable and diversified partnerships, exploring pathways for a local workforce and supply chain, and informing organizations about the opportunities of offshore wind across the state.

We’ve learned a lot in these last four years, and we continue to learn directly from our communities and stakeholders. The posts below offer a glimpse into our local efforts as well as provide some unique views from our team members’ experiences and insights to how offshore wind is growing in the Garden State!

Empowering the Next Generation

Attentive Energy has invested in a number of initiatives and impactful partnerships that introduce youth to the dynamic world of offshore wind energy. Three initiatives we’re highlighting this month:

The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore

Hackensack Riverkeeper Eco-Cruise Partnership

New Jersey Student Days

The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore

Attentive Energy has partnered with The Girl Scouts of the Jersey Shore and committed to supporting a mobile STEAM lab, funding Girl Scout troops from overburdened communities, and providing ongoing mentorship through our staff.

Hackensack Riverkeeper Eco-Cruise Partnership

Attentive Energy joined Hackensack Riverkeeper to launch the Eco-Cruise Partnership for the 2023 season. The Eco-Cruise Partnership will host area schools from Hudson and Bergen Counties and educate students about the river’s ecological importance, biodiversity in New Jersey’s waterways, and career pathways in maritime and environmental science.

New Jersey Student Days

Attentive Energy hosted two New Jersey Student Days in Sicklerville and Newark to expose over 250 students to the offshore wind industry and related career pathways. The students engaged in a number of hands-on learning opportunities, and we gained some valuable insights and feedback from their experiences.
