HSEQ Manager

After joining TotalEnergies in January 2006, Kirsty spent 5 years in the HSE operations department of the UK E&P branch before starting her expat career.  Between 2010 and 2014, Kirsty was based in Paris at headquarters HSE E&P projects group as an Environmental projects Engineer, responsible for developing and managing environmental studies and surveys for the Americas, Asia Pacific and Uganda.  In this role she completed several notable projects including the first offshore deep water environmental survey of the Bruneian South China Sea in 1700m of water, and the baseline survey, impact assessment and permitting for Uruguay first offshore seismic survey and exploration well.  She has been based in Houston since 2014 and until July 2019 she was Head of Sustainable Development Research within the Transverse HSE R&D group.  In this position, she developed industrial and research organization partnerships in a diverse range of HSE subjects and was responsible for designing and launching the IOGP eDNA research program on behalf of the energy industry.  She also led TotalEnergies research around underwater noise impacts on Marine Life and was Technical Committee Chair of the IOGP E&P Sound & Marine Life Research JIP until 2019.

Kirsty has worked as HSE Manager for the TotalEnergies Trading & Shipping Americas region since August 2019 where she has overseen engineering evaluation on two major terminal construction projects and implemented structured HSE evaluation processes and an improved safety culture within this high-risk environment.  In addition, she led TotalEnergies USA level response to the Covid-19 pandemic, spending two years as the Chair of the TotalEnergies USA Covid-19 Taskforce.

As the HSEQ (Health, Safety, Environment & Quality) Manager for the Attentive Energy – New York Bight project, Kirsty is tasked with ensuring HSEQ risks are fully identified and evaluated within the project and appropriate HSEQ controls are incorporated within the design.  She will be developing HSEQ Processes and Procedures to ensure the safety and quality of all project activities and working towards developing a robust safety culture within the project team and our contractors.

She holds a BSc (Hons) in Marine Biology from Heriot-Watt University and an MSc in Offshore Marine Technology from University of Strathclyde.
