Senior Interconnection Engineer

Mahdiyeh Khodaparastan is the Senior Interconnection Engineer for Attentive Energy where she focuses on offshore wind transmission and grid interconnection. She is passionate about problem-solving, and challenges related to renewable energy. In her current role, Mahdiyeh leads the offshore wind interconnection analysis for Attentive Energy and coordinates the completion of all interconnection applications with internal stakeholders, external consultants, and utilities. She also contributes to strategic planning and scheduling for the interconnection of offshore wind and ensures the quality and accuracy of deliverables across the electrical team.

Previously, Mahdiyeh was an energy storage project specialist at ConEdison, focusing on energy storage interconnection into the distribution grid. Mahdiyeh holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering and worked on the recuperation of regenerative braking energy using wayside energy storage at New York City’s electric rail transit system during her program. Her work was funded by NYSERDA, ConEdison, and MTA.
